Tai-Chi Chuan
Now under the Ashin-do Kai banner, Sifu Ian Orkin
is taking Tai Chi Chuan lessons for all ages and abilities.
Like Yoga, Tai-Chi Chuan strengthens muscle groups
and can, over time, improve bone density and balance. The other
important function of Tai-Chi Chuan is as a very effective Martial
Art - it originated as this - this should not be forgotten in the
teaching process.
Sifu Ian Orkin was originally taught by John Kells
in 1970, the founder of the British Tai-Chi Association, and by
Grand Master Chi-Chiang Tao. He then spent several years with
various masters of the art, including 7 years with Sifu Jeff
Roberts, South East Asian full contact Champion, where he became an
instructor for Sifu Jeff's Academy of Oriental Arts, learning in the
process about healing techniques and internal power.
Ian still trains daily and has now added his
teaching abilities to the range offered at Ashin-do Kai. He offers
both chi-na and chi-kung exercises, which can help with strength,
fitness, balance and overall wellbeing.
Classes are on Tuesday evenings at 8pm and are
open to all ages, but are limited to a maximum of 10 students per
term, so
book early!
If you would like any
information, please contact Ian directly on 07871 081036
